BLOSSOMING

Ancient Wisdom. Cutting Edge Science. A Deeper Way to Thrive.

The Blossoming Story

Blossoming was created from a simple but deeply held belief — that health is not just the absence of symptoms, and that living is not just existing. Life is for thriving. Physically, mentally and emotionally. And that most people are capable of far more than they currently feel.

Drawing on over 25 years of experience across biomedical science, functional medicine, somatics, breathwork and the healing arts, Blossoming brings together the best of ancient wisdom and cutting edge science — distilling the essence of these teachings into experiences and programmes that are accessible, practical and easy to follow. Not quick fixes or short-term hacks, but sustainable shifts that compound over time. The body, the mind and the emotions are not separate — they are one interconnected system. When all three are nurtured together, something extraordinary begins to happen.

From the care taken in choosing venues and setting the space, to the science underpinning every practice — nothing is accidental. Whether you come for a monthly soul session, a 6-week programme or a company away day, you will leave with more than a good experience. You will leave with tools, understanding and a felt sense of what it means to truly feel good from the inside out.

"Health is not just the absence of symptoms. Living is not just existing. Life is for thriving — on every level."

About Jody

Blossoming was founded by Jody, a health and wellbeing educator with over 25 years of experience across health, lifestyle medicine and personal development. Holding degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Homeopathy, alongside diplomas in Nutrition and Personal Training, her work is grounded in both scientific rigour and practical application — combining clinical experience and programme design to help people make sustainable changes that support long-term wellbeing.

Earlier in her career, Jody co-established the London Clinic of Nutrition — one of the UK’s first integrated functional medicine clinics and an award-winning practice that supported thousands of patients in the treatment and management of chronic health conditions. Working closely with practitioners, she developed structured health programmes that translated complex clinical guidance into clear, practical steps that people could realistically implement in everyday life.

Since then, her training has expanded to include SOMA Breathwork instruction, women’s embodiment, trauma-informed approaches and meditative arts — bringing together the full spectrum of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing into everything Blossoming offers today.

The Science of Soma Breath

SOMA — the Science Of Magnetic Attraction — is a complete holistic breathwork system combining ancient pranayama techniques with modern neuroscience and music technology. It is built on a fundamental truth that most people overlook: breath is the only automatic function in the body also under voluntary control — making it a unique and powerful bridge between the conscious and unconscious mind, and between the body and the nervous system.

Using specific rhythmic breathing patterns timed to music, SOMA activates the parasympathetic nervous system — switching off the stress response and creating a state called heart coherence, in which the heart, nervous system and brain synchronise into their most efficient functioning. Feel-good neurochemicals flood the body and the brain shifts through distinct states — from beta, the busy analytical waking state, through alpha, a relaxed and creative awareness, and into theta, the deeply restorative state associated with meditation, emotional release and subconscious reprogramming. Emotional states that have been held for years begin to move and release.

The breath hold phase triggers intermittent hypoxia — an adaptive response that stimulates new red blood cell production, improves mitochondrial function, lowers blood pressure, reduces inflammation and activates the body’s own capacity to heal and restore — amongst many other profound health benefits. Combined with whole brain activation and carefully chosen music, SOMA creates physiological and emotional shifts that are both immediate and lasting. Cambridge University research found that SOMA breathwork can induce states of expanded awareness and emotional release that participants described as more profound than plant medicine experiences.

"May the vibrations wash away your worries and fears. May the melody pierce the depths of your heart. And may the beat connect you to the rhythm that is the flow of your life."

The Science of Sound

Sound is not just something you hear. It is something you receive. Every ancient civilisation knew this — long before science had words for it, they were already using sound to heal, to create and to connect. It is the first sense to develop in the human body in the womb and, across cultures from Ancient Egypt to the Himalayas, has been placed at the very heart of creation itself.

As both particle and wave, sound vibration reaches not just the physical body but the emotional layers beneath — moving through skin, organs and tissues, vibrating every cell and harmonising the water within the body. And your body is mostly water. Through brainwave entrainment, the brain shifts from beta, the busy anxious waking state, through alpha into theta — the deeply restorative state associated with meditation, emotional release and healing. Sound stimulates the vagus nerve, activating the parasympathetic nervous system — lowering cortisol, reducing blood pressure, strengthening immune function and supporting emotional regulation. It increases dopamine, reduces emotional reactivity and research confirms it can alleviate anxiety, depression and improve sleep and cognitive function. In a single session, the nervous system receives a depth of restoration that months of busyness have taken away.

The instruments are chosen for the specific quality and frequency of their vibrations — the gong with its vast oceanic resonance, the singing bowls of ancient Himalayan tradition, and the flute, breath made music, that speaks directly to the heart. Woven together with trypnaural music and healing frequencies, they create an immersive soundscape that guides you from the noise of the mind into the stillness of the body — and from the surface of feeling into its deepest layers
