Carefully held gatherings

It begins before a single breath is taken.

The layout, the lighting, the textures, the objects placed with intention, every detail is considered, so the space feels safe, beautiful and held from the moment you walk in. I seek out exquisite venues with beauty, history and a quality of stillness, because when the environment speaks to the senses, the nervous system softens before anything has begun.

Sacred Sounds

A journey into sound, breath and deep feeling
Monthly · Hertfordshire venues · 2 hours

More than a sound bath. Beginning with a SOMA Breathwork practice, sacred instruments from around the world are woven with trypnaural brainwave music that slows the brain, guiding you into deep stillness, where the body softens and sound can be fully received. Not just heard, but felt.

“May the vibrations wash away your worries and fears. May the melody pierce your heart. And may the beat reconnect you to the rhythm of your life.”

Questions, answered

What is a sound journey?+
You lie down, get comfortable under a blanket, and I play gongs, Himalayan singing bowls, chimes and flute, woven with music composed to slow the mind. There is nothing to do. The sound does the work: the nervous system settles, the breath deepens, and most people drift somewhere between waking and sleep. Two hours passes quickly.
What happens at a SOMA breathwork session?+
Guided rhythmic breathing to music, with short breath holds, building gently over the session. I talk you through every breath, so there is nothing to learn beforehand. Tingling, warmth or a wave of emotion are all normal, and you are in control throughout. You leave clear-headed and energised rather than sleepy.
Do I need any experience?+
None. Every session is guided from the first breath, and there is no right or wrong way to do any of it. Come as you are.
What should I wear and bring?+
Something comfortable and warm: layers, because the body cools when it is still. Anything else you need for a particular session is in your booking email.
Is breathwork suitable for everyone?+
Breath holds are not suitable during pregnancy, or with epilepsy, a heart condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure or recent surgery. That does not mean you cannot come. I adapt the breathing for anyone who needs it. If you are unsure, message me before booking and we will work it out together.
In their words

What people feel afterwards

“I suffer quite badly from cardiophobia … being guided through the experience by Jody, with clear and calm instructions, in a calm and relaxing atmosphere, was transformative.”

Colin Payne · Breathwork

“Stunning music, beautiful setting, so peaceful and relaxing! Clear instructions from the facilitator, with the added bonus of breathwork. 10/10!”

Natalie Simone Gordon · Sound Journey

“To let those repeated patterns take shape … gives a real space of calm and relaxation. A little slice of joy, peace and kindness at the start of the weekend.”

Adrian Relph · Peaceful Patterns
